Camp Fire Cooking

After another tough few days on the farm; days off been stripped, a whole patch of mouldy beans and being made to weed out of control weeds, the group were working hard together to raise each other’s spirits.

So Kieren got a fire going in our camp area and we decided to do some outdoors cooking. Food solves all problems, doesn’t it?

We put our potatoes in some foil and popped them on the fire. Here are our little dragon eggs (GoT is back on, so I thought I’d do a cheeky reference there):

Turns out cooking potatoes on the fire takes way longer than expected; so to pass time we bitched a bit more, gossiped about love island and attempted to tell ghost stories.

After an hour and a bit, they were ready! And boy were they cooked to perfection; crispy skin on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Here she is:

I chose to top my potato with butter, cheese and my homemade chilli. The chilli consisted of: chorizo, chicken thighs, veal mince, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika and red wine.

It was delicious; just what the group needed after a tough few days.

Food solves any negativity in your life, fact!
