My First Encounter with Seafood

Hi!

Straight off the bat, I absolutely LOVE seafood; crab, squid, langoustines, lobster – give me them all! And if you ask any of my friends, they will whole heartedly say that I will happily spend half my bank balance so I can have a couple of scallops.

Now back to my Aussie adventure, Katherine and I landed safely in Sydney and successfully got through our jet lag. We decided to be tourists straight away and as soon as the weather picked up, we headed for one of the most known beaches in Sydney; Bondi! We worked up quite an appetite by the time we got there as I insisted we walk to the beach instead of getting the bus. After about two hours of walking, we needed food and low and behold there was a fish and chip shop right next to the beach. Katherine got the normal order, fish and chips, whilst I had clocked the blue crab in the window and immediately had that prepared. We grabbed our boxes filled with seafood goodness and headed for the beach.

What a view:

My crab had a sweet chilli sauce drizzled over it and a simple garden salad on the side. There wasn’t as much crab meat asanticipated but none the less it was so sweet and delicate.

Spending over $20 was so worth it! May I add that I live in a hostel so I should be having ramen noodles, but you can’t tame me!

First beach and first batch of seafood now checked off my foodie tourist bucket list!

I wonder what I’ll come into contact with next?

Come along and love food with me, Lucy!
